1. Getting Started - How to Use Fortix Help
Fortix has integrated help that is accessible and editable from any Fortix system. Each user will be able to manage sections of the help based on their permissions. This article describes ways how help needs to be used by Fortix team members and our clients.
When you click on the Help button on the right-hand side of the page, the Help Menu or Topic for that page will display. Each page in Fortix system has a unique link and when the help opens the following scenarios can be presented:
1. Menu List will display all help articles linked to the page.
2. When the Page has only One Help article linked - help will display that article.
Click Menu to see other articles pertaining to the current page, if any other articles is linked to the current page.
Using Search
To Search for a Help article, enter a whole word in the search field and click the search icon. This will find all the articles that contain the word, in the heading and the body of the document.
Add New Article
Add a new help article by clicking on the Add New tab. This is permission based and only users with the correct permission will be able to see the Add New tab.
The Add New document form opens with two sections.
The Top Black section is for Client Specific Documentation - Available only in the specific client system - e.g. client.fortix.systems
This section is divided into 3 blocks:
1. Client Documentation. This is where you can add help articles for your business to use. This block is reserved for your business help articles.
2. Client Documentation Managed by Fortix, Visible to Client. This block is where Fortix can add articles pertaining to your Fortix business system.
3. Fortix Internal Documentation Client Specific, Not Visible to Client. Fortix will use this area to provide better support to your business. It might contain technical information that is specific to your business system in Fortix.
Click on the + sign to add content.
The Bottom Blue section is for - Documentation available across all Fortix customer systems.
This section is divided into 2 blocks:
1. Fortix Documentation Visible to All Clients. This block is where Fortix adds articles pertaining to all Fortix business systems.
2. Fortix Internal Documentation. Documentation available to Fortix Team in all systems
The first decision to make is to decide who the documentation is for and if it should be accessible across different systems (BLUE) or only for this specific system (Black).
Second decision to make is WHO needs to be able to see this documentation.
How to Link an Article to a Page
Help articles can be linked to the specific URL (Fortix page/form) in the system.
Each article can be linked to and unlinked from the page at any time.
New articles will be automatically linked to the page from where it was created.
To link an article to a page, click the Link tab while the help article is open on the Fortix system page where the help article needs to be linked to.
To unlink, click the Unlink tab.
When an article is linked to a page, the tab will be "Unlink"
Using the Pin Page
Sometimes it is useful to keep the current help article opened even if navigating across the system. Pinning an artcile will keep the current help document opened even when navigating to different parts of the system. The Pin will be black filled when active and white filled when inactive.
How to Link an Article in an Article
Click on the Fortix Help document number and paste it into your article.
Next add a hyperlink to the text using the hyperlink icon. #help_2623F
